Is it ok to play the DS while recharging?

^^;; I never really had this problem but after getting MPH and finding out that my battery is nearly dead, my normal just recharge and get some sleep strategy is much harder ; ;

Why wouldn't it be ok? It'll just recharge slower, but you won't have to worry about the battery dying
