I finished Golden Sun for the zillionth time, and went straight into GS:TLA. I was playing MMBN2, but I stopped (stupid boring ice scenario) and picked up Zone of the Enders: Fist of Mars, but I got bored with that around the tenth mission, and hopped into GS instead. <<;

I badly need new games. >>;;

Creepy. Last time I played I was at Tetyth trying to get Cierra's ending.

I have it, but I never managed to beat Undine or Gnome (Yeah, I suck. Shaddup.) And I thought the dejap crew just added all the sexual stuff? I've heard on the GFAQs ToP boards that the GBA script is closer to the original.

Anyways, in Sonic Rush I've gotten all the Chaos Emeralds, beaten both stories, and completed the Extra Zone. Now I just need to get all the S-Ranks, which is pretty **** hard to do in this game.

In Tales of Phantasia I'm at the Limestone Cave. Cless, Mint, and Klarth are Lv.18. Arche is Lv.17.

Bull. Firstly, the GBA version pulled out just about all the dialogue from the hot springs scene, cut out the scene on the ship and removed all references to alcohol - Guinness, Sake, the bars, etc etc. Best of both worlds is probably the Playstation version, but the translation patch for that ain't done yet.

Also: Go watch the anime. Now.

I really have not been playing video games that lately. I have been playing DDR rarely but thats about it, and of course San Andreas is on my list again.

Posted by Big Boss

Playing: Resident Evil 4 (GCN)

Progression: Enjoying the benefits of playing the game a second time through with my kick-*** inventory. The game is suddenly oh so easy...

Posted by Ant

You should improvise and try it with knife only. Then it might become a bit harder :0

As for me, the only game I'm really playing now is Guilty Gear X2. Mostly with friends. My best character by far is Ky. But I'm also pretty good with Baiken. But lately I've found that I find Johnny to be really fun to play with. I thought the coins were useless before, but now I use them to string up really fantastic combos.

But I'm also playing my DS from time to time. I bought the Rub Rabbits just cause I never had Feel the Magic, and I heard it was like that but with a lot more and stuff. I love the style of it. I know it's all iPOD-ish, but in a game it's pretty neat still. Also interesting how you have to flip the DS around sideways and upside-down to play. It really takes advantage of the two-screens. And so far also best use of the stylus.

Oh, and I pick up Mariokart DS sometimes too just for a quick online match or to do a time trial. I'm a snaker though, WATCH OUT!

GAMECUBE:
Tales of Symphonia
Resident Evil 4

X-box:
Burnout 3
Galleon - Now that there's a drought of good games coming out, I can finally finish these older games.

DS:
Animal Crossing - Endeavoring to get my town up to presentable status before my Nintendo Wi-Fi adapter arrives and I can take it online.

Dreamcast:
Dragonriders of Pern - Holy crap does it suck, but the story is intriguing and for some reason the atmosphere has me hooked.

PC:
Myst IV - Need to finish this one before I move on to the final installment. I've been putting it off since I love this series so much and don't want it to end. I've got to finish Uru as well, but that's kind of a side-story, so I'm not worried about it right now.

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles for the Nintendo Game Cube. I've gradually been battling my way through that game for a little over a month now. I've only been able to accumulate about 11 hours of game time so far and I am on the 5th year, I believe. It seems I've only been able to fit one or two levels a week, but I expect after finals are over this next week, I'll have the time to progress through it entirely. I'm looking forward to moving on to Fire Emblem afterwards.

Riviera: The Promised Land: At Mireno Cemetary. Going to try to fill up all the things I'm missing in the Item Collection, CG Gallery, etc.

Tales of Phantasia: About to head to Thor. Lv38 Cless, Lv37 Mint, Lv36 Klarth and Arche.

Quoting Klarth: Also: Go watch the anime. Now.

Saw the first episode yesterday. Gonna wait 'til I beat the game before I watch the rest of them.

Quoting Shade: Dude, you're party's weak, level 'em up, pronto.

Dude, they're not weak. O_o If they are, then I must be a tactical genius, 'cause I'm certainly not having any problems. In fact, I got bored whacking enemies and started using Avoid. XD Just so you know, I wasn't actually completing Ankohl Ruins, I was only visiting. I'd decided to steal what I could before I wandered off to the next Rock. ^^

Now I'm at the foot of Gaia Rock, just finished with Aqua Rock, and everyone's LV24, with 3 Venus Djinn, 6 Mercury Djinn, 4 Mars and Jupiter Djinn. I got lazy and somehow managed to miss a Venus Djinn - I know where, I just don't want to go all the way back to get it. =^^=

Very good beat'em up, rare these days.

Posted by WILLETH FOR MONTHS

I'm playing Two Thrones on GameCube, after finally plucking it off the shelf and booting it up, having owned it since November. I'm loving it, there's a wonderful sense of tension going on because you never know when you're going to turn dark, and whether or not you've got enough health to do so. Not only that, but the levels hold your hand a lot less, so you're forced to work out how to get somewhere without a vision or someone showing you the way, which appeals to my traceur nature.

I'm also working my way through Shadow of the Colossus, very slowly - again, I only got it about two weeks ago, and I've had almost no time.

I've also rediscovered my GBA and all my old games. It's now permanently in my bathroom with a copy of Pokémon Pinball, for use instead of waddling round the house trying to find a book.

After I've beaten the hell out of all those, I'll probably just go back to the old staples, namely just completing more of Burnout 3 and getting a few levels ahead on Getting Up. And when I've got a spare few hours, I might just complete the last few levels of God of War. Yeah, I got distracted.

Downloadable Tony Hawk's levels are also in the mix. Although I seem to have lost my DS.

Heh, I bought that. And after beating it, I came to the conclusion that a sequel is impossible.

Games I've been playing:

GRAW (360) - close to beating it, just too many other games to play
MGS:S (PS2) - third time through
MP:H (DS) - fourth planet
Oblivion (360) - still gotta unwrap it

Posted by Big Boss

Played Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion two nights ago, and I'm playing through Law & Order: Criminal Intent for the PC. I have a very high tolerance for adventure games, but I wish detective Bobby Goren wasn't so bored playing his role in a computer game.

After I get done with playing RE4 a second time and Law & Order, I'll focus all my efforts on Oblivion and MGS3: Subsistence.

I'm still going through the previous games I mentioned (Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles) and when I finish that game I will move on to my next Game Cube game. At the same time, however, I just started my Oblivion adventure. Definitely the best 360 game so far, but that wasn't too difficult and I was expecting such. The game is gorgeous. Exploring the areas is great fun and the missions and the actual game itself is so much more captivating than it was with Morrowind. I actually feel motivated to go through the storyline in Oblivion. I'm dedicating most of today to playing this game.

Metroid Prime Hunters: Beaten the game, 100% scans, 99% total, all multiplayer maps unlocked. Currently looking for the expansion I'm missing, which I assume is a UA Expansion.

Posted by BLUNTMASTER X

Tetris DS: I love this game. Ever since the DS launched, I've wanted Tetris - and here it is! Some of the modes are lacklustre, but who cares when you have the original Tetris game mode, and WiFi multiplayer?

Metroid Prime Hunters: Again, awesome. The graphics blow me away every time, and the online play has me hooked. I recently finished the single-player, which was a great (but slightly repetitive) blast.

Super Mario Kart: SNES classic - I love the theme from Mario Circuit. It takes me back... Anyway, I've finished Mushroom and Star Cups - only one more to go!

Final Fantasy IV: Haven't started properly yet, only been through the opening, but it's on my 'to-do ASAP' list.

Posted by Big Boss

Now that I've beaten Resident Evil 4 (GCN) a second time, as well as the Ada Assignment, I can finally move on to other games. I'm still putting Law & Order: Criminal Intent on hold until I have enough time and patience to play through that broken mess.

Right now, I'm playing Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX for the PSP. I was worried, from reviews and Capcom's release of an attachable d-pad, that I'd have trouble getting used to playing the 2D fighter on the PSP. However, after stringing three straight Sho-Ryu-Ken against E. Honda after only 20 minutes of play, I can safely say the d-pad is perfect for it. I'm having a blast playing on breaks.

I'm also starting a season in MLB 06: The Show, which I got recently for the PS2. The game has been praised around most parts over MLB2K6 and MVP NCAA, so I'm looking forward to 162 games of sweet baseball action with the Atlanta Braves.

Lastly, I had a chance to play a demo of Okami (PS2). I didn't think I'd get really into it, but the game is so approachable and fun, especially on how it incorporates the brush during combat, that it's now one of the titles I'm most looking forward to. And let's not even get into how beautiful this game is from an audiovisual perspective.

Posted by Klarth

I'm playing Guilty Gear XX#Reload for PSP - best fighter I've ever played. Like Big Boss, I was worried that the stiff D-pad would make it suck, but I've found it to be fine for fighting controls - Perfectly easy to chuck out a 20-hit combo ending in an overdrive. They *did* bundle a "d-pad fix" with SFZ in Japan, though - It's a non-fragmented grey pad you clip on over the PSP one. Could be useful.

Also decided to re-try Killer 7(GCN), I wasn't all too impressed with it the first time around, but now that I've given it more of a chance I actually do like it, quite fun and very interesting.

Also playing Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake on Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence(PS2), as well, quite enjoyable.

Final Fantasy VII ...Playing it for my first time, about 3/4 through Disc Two I beleive...on my way to Cosmo Canyon...

Final Fantasy IX...Just got it the other week and am only about three hours in...

Final Fantasy III...Just started about two weeks ago, about four hours in and loving it...

My game time is currently split between playing MLB '06: The Show for the PS2, and Mega Man: Powered Up for the PSP.

I'm playing a full season in The Show, and just last night I finished the first month. The last five games my starters have completely dominated. Tim Hudson pitched a no-hitter (my first in the game!), and the rest combined for only 3 earned runs in four games. While my Braves are first in the league in hitting (over .340), we're last in HRs. The "Jones Brothers" have combined for only 5 dingers in the first month, with Adam LaRoche heroically picking up the slack bombing 7 and driving in 24 with an impressive .420+ batting average. He's leading the team in virtually every offensive category.

One funny thing to note, however, is the exclusion of Barry Bonds. It's not the first year, of course, but this time he has been replaced with "Reggie Stocker." You'd figure Stocker would have the same attributes as Bonds, but this guy's even better! A rookie, Stocker has almost all his offensive stats entirely maxed out! I don't know about you, but Bonds isn't exactly known for his consistency at hitting well above .300 year in and year out, but Stocker has the capability to stay at the high .400s for more than a month! At least Sony got his durability correct, which means he spends more energy quicker than other players and therefore needs more rest.

In the handheld world, Mega Man: Powered Up has provided some surprisingly fun gameplay. I was expecting the original game with a "cute" graphical upgrade, but I was surprised to learn that was just one mode of gameplay. The other one is a true remake of the original, with a simple story that twists things around a little bit. Instead of killing Dr.Light's stolen robots, you beat them into their original friendly selves, and from then on you'll be able to play as them if you wish. There's also a level editor which has me excited, but I forget it's there every time I play, because I turn my PSP on during breaks to just shoot violent robots for 15 minutes. The soundtrack also changed, remixing the original tracks to more kiddie-sounding tunes. It's a great game to introduce Mega Man to the young ones.

I was lucky enough to find Genji: Dawn of the Samurai (PS2) for $9.99 at Best Buy, and since I have a sweet spot for games inspired by Japanese culture and action games themselves, this was an easy buy. I was surprised it was more than just the simplified God of War clone I had originally envisioned. It actually pays more tribute to Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny than anything else, albeit with a faster, more approachable combat system. Its small RPG-like elements are a welcome addition to the simplistic fighting.

I also got Super Dragon Ball Z yesterday, and so far I've enjoyed it. It certainly lacks the over-the-top action characteristic of the anime and manga (and increasingly well-portrayed in other games), but it makes up for it with traditional gameplay. Fighting game fans may like this a little better than the crazy action from other DBZ games, but at the same time the lack of moves per fighter is questionable, especially when the hand of someone involved with the original Street Fighter II took part in the development of the game. I've read there are more moves to get, but I haven't gotten that far into the game yet. Still, it's a fun title but somewhat irrelevant. With Budokai 3 being the epitome of the franchise and Tenkaichi being the new, more appropriate direction of the series, Super DBZ doesn't stand out on its own to merit a purchase by anyone other than tireless DBZ fans. It is still a good game, though.

Lastly, I'm still playing season mode in MLB 06: The Show. I'm tweaking the difficulty sliders to make hitting more difficult, as LaRoche and the Jones brothers are hitting well over .400. So, I'm trying to get used to Veteran hitting, but I wish Sony would've made a more helpful manual to better explain the mechanics, which are subject to very different assumptions.

Ugh, I hate how I pile up games, I just want to play them all at the same time. I rarely beat them this way. :(

SNES:
Lufia II- Very enjoyable so far. Funny dialogue, and something about the dialogue system itself is far above many RPGs produced nowadays.

Bahamut Lagoon- Also enjoyable, just got the airship thing, so I haven't gotten to the grit of the game yet.

Demon Crest- Haven't touched it for a couple weeks. It'll take more thinking than I had assumed, what with the changing forms and all.

Tales of Phantasia- ...I can't believe it's a Super Nintendo game. Very cool.

PS2:
Dragon Quest VII- I'm progressing slowly but steadily through this adventure. It's a lot of fun.

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2- I've just been messing around, getting the last few characters and some other unlockables.

Xbox:
Ninja Gaiden- Only about the most amazing/challenging game ever!

Doom- Still haven't finished it off. I really want to get to some more bosses, though, so I will sometime.

There are many other games that I spend time playing occasionally, and MANY more I have around that I want to conquer. For example, Makai Kingdom and La Pucelle Tactics are coming in the mail in a few days.
I'm too cheap for Disgaea right now.

I started the New Super Mario Bros game for the Nintendo DS about a week ago. I'm already in world 5 and I've collected all the secrets along the way. The game's been great. Some of the secrets are difficult to figure out, such as the alternate routes, but other than that the game has turned out to be really easy. I often get through levels in one try while grabbing all three Star Coins. Sometimes I feel as though it is going by too fast so I try to do only a little at a time. The game is very nostalgic, like many Mario games.

I'm also still leveling my Mario up in Paper Mario for the Cube. Once I'm prepared, I'm going to tackle that 100 Pit again and hope I conquer it, unlike last time where I made it to the end and then died!

I'm still playing MLB 06: The Show, though I'll be forced to sim most games, as I don't see the time to play all 162 games on my own. I've also been playing Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories on my PSP, which is the most fun I've ever had with a handheld game. My time's split between MLB 06: The Show and Okami. The latter is such a beautiful game, and it has the same addictive nature that you'd get from playing a modern Zelda adventure. From Nintendo's series it borrows the structure and progression of Link's games, but it's how you play in it that makes it so unique. The brush is so much fun to use, and it can be used for so many different things already (I only have about 4 techniques). Okami is a statement that we don't need to rush into the next generation to find innovative gameplay.

Posted by Bebop

Okami makes me kind of wish I didnt sell my PS2. Grr curses for it taking so **** long to come out.

Probably going to conquer Star Fox Command today, as long as I can find the time. After that, my next Nintendo DS adventure's going to be Lunar: Dragon Song. It'll actually be my very first Lunar adventure. I'm not quite sure what to expect from it, but whatever I find, I'll probably not judge the entire Lunar series by it. Imagine judging the Final Fantasy games from Crystal Chronicles. I suppose Lunar is also the first RPG for the Nintendo DS, so that'll be interesting.

And tomorrow I'm going to finish Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Such a wonderful game, with a great, morale teaching story that constantly makes me look forward to progressing. I'm so curious as to what's going to happen with the huge cast of characters. Definitely one of my top 5 favorite Game Cube games. After that my next Game Cube game is Baten Kaitos: Origins. I'm positive that will be an amazing adventure, just like the first.

We've also been playing a lot of multiplayer in Goldeneye 007 for the Nintendo 64. Still doesn't get old to me.

Quoted post: The brush is so much fun to use, and it can be used for so many different things already (I only have about 4 techniques).

It's not that great. Using the brush is actually one of the low points for me because it's all the same. It's either a circle or a slash, and they all have fairly bad detection (looking at you log/water level.) Okami 2, if there ever is one, definitely has TONS of room for improvement when it comes to that mechanic, because it really gets uninteresting halfway through or so. But that's so minor, especially when everything else is so fantastic you don't even care about the little flaws.

Would that happen to be TimeSplitters 2 that you're playing? I've been wanting to get the 3rd TimeSplitters, but I didn't want to until I defeated everything in the previous one. :(

Posted by Kit

I can't actually get all of the platinums either. But I've got all at least gold, so that's ok for me. And I'm afraid it's the first Timesplitters game I'm currently playing. I got it at a car boot sale for £6, so it's an alright deal.
I managed to complete the game on the Hardest difficulty. It took quite a long time and a lot of tries, though. Personally, I think the 3rd game Story Mode is easier than the 2nd's, but I'm not very good at some of the challenges.

Anywho, a couple of games I have just recently started include Lunar on Sega CD, (which will be followed by Lunar II: Eternal Blue on the Sega CD), and Dragon Warrior II for the NES. What can I say? I have a weakness for the classics.

Started a new Paper Mario 2 file. I just got Flurrie and I'm already at Lv11, cause I went to the Pit of 100 Trials early to get the Strange Sack.

Also started Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2. Chose Edgar as my character and Dinah as my Guardian Beast. Her constant changing between an angel and devil is kind of weird.

Finally, I'm working on Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Trying to make a perfect file, with all clan members mastering every single job.

Megaman ZX.
Close to the end but trying to go around beating everyone and getting Lvl. 4 victory.
I plan on getting Megaman Zero 3 and 4 so I can get Model OX.
Then pick up MZ 2 and play from then and down.

Posted by Zeta

You don't need Z3 and Z4 to get Model OX. They just let you fight Blazin' Flizzard, Childre Inarabbita, Hellbat Schilt, and Deathtanz Mantisk from Z3, and Pegasolta Eclair, Fenri Lunaedge, Sol Titanion, and Noble Mandrago from Z4.

Just finished *** of War (PS2) and I'm on the final mission in Advance Wars: DS (NDS), so now I'm borrowing Star Fox Command (DS) and Ace Combat 4 (PS2) from a friend. A friend also just gave me Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault (PC) and one of his old Steam accounts so I can play Counter Strike: Condition Zero (PC). I've also got a GBA emulator and a Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (GBA) ROM which I usually play during class. I also play Starcraft (PC) occasionally online with some friends. Oh, and I got Neverwinter Nights: Diamond Edition (PC), which I really need to continue playing.

There aren't enough hours in the day for me to play everything I want to.

Lately I've been replaying some old SNES favorites such as Aero the Acrobat 2, Yoshi's Island, and Demon's Crest. I also recently borrowed Bloody Roar 4 for PS2 from a friend, and while I had played that game off and on at his house over the years, I've finally decided to sit down and really get familiar with it. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner, honestly. I've also been playing Beatmania IIDX every chance I get at the aforementioned friend's house. Addicting as hell, great music, and entertaining visuals. I'm gonna snatch up a copy for myself soon, I think.

Oh yeah, and I have to admit I've been enjoying Crash Bash for the first time in a long while. I know that probably not too many people are very fond of it, but I think it's fun. It's something I can relax and play while I'm taking a break from a really frustrating game, at the least. It's also great with a few friends, too.

Wrapped up in Okami. 60+ hours and going! It's an excellent game, and I absolutely love the brush. I also appreciate the several references to other Capcom games for us Capcom fans. It's a very bad thing for the industry that a company like Clover, established for the purpose of creative game development, is closed. I wish these guys would've stayed together longer... an incredible shame. I'll likely be picking up Godhand in the near future.

And still seasoning in MLB 06: The Show. I'll probably be playing it until the new season starts next year.

Posted by Speedfreak

None, really, other than 42 all-time classics. This generation bores me now. I was going to get MGS3 Subsistence, but that was before Konami delayed the EU version BY AN ENTIRE BLOODY YEAR.

I can't be bothered with Okami, to be honest. Zelda's out in a little over a month, along with a deluge of new and interesting games I want to buy. I'm really focused on Wii right now, and I'm preparing the necessary funds to create the best launch day ever. All I'm really doing is toying with some old games and stretching their life, something I became a master of in the N64 days.

Since I finished Baten a few days ago, tonight I start with Tales of the Abyss for the Playstation 2. Hopefully I'll finish it before the Wii is released. I'd like to get started on Zelda as soon as I can.

I'm also still playing Lunar: Dragon Song for the Nintendo DS. That game is too difficult. I spend most of my time simply leveling up and earning money to buy items. :(

Whew, I almost bought that used today when I got my DS. You should let me know if Tales of Abyss is a good game to be my first venture into the Tales universe.

Megaman ZX- Just got it today with my shiny new DS(:D). It's so smooth and fast... I can't wait to get more biometals.

KH: CoM- I figured I should get a GBA game, too, so I picked this one. I don't really like the card system, and it looks like it will get repetitive later, but oh well. It's a beautiful looking game, and I enjoy how it reminds me of when I first played KH. It might even convince me to get KH2, but probably not.

Lunar isn't a terrible game. There are many aspects I can criticize about it, but if you can find it used and for a cheap price, it's not too bad. It is, after all, the first RPG for the Nintendo DS. I look forward to making progress and seeing how it turns out. It's just too difficult. A little more leveling up and I should be able to defeat the boss I'm currently at.

I'm on my way to play Tales of the Abyss right now. From what I can tell from people who have played the Tales games, they say it's on par with Symphonia, which means this must be a rad game. Symphonia was my favorite of the Tales games, followed by Phantasia.

I just finished Okami (PS2), and got pretty much all the presents there are to get. I'm not sure if I'll have time in the foreseeable future to play the game again and uncover the extras, but there will be a time. An entertaining, beautiful adventure worthy of anyone's time, and it's a no-brainer if you have a remote interest in Zelda-style game progression.

I started playing Resistance: Fall of Man a day after getting my PS3 (I was out for most of the day, and after setting the system up, I went to bed). It's a shooter than starts off as a generic pseudo-WWII FPS that gets progressively more interesting and fun as the game moves on. The story is simple but with a sense of thrilling mystery, and the levels get surprisingly good as you advance in the game. The weapons are quirky and fun, and is solid enough that makes me want to play it every time I'm not. It's definitely the PS3's must-get title at launch, and I've yet to try the online mode, which is supposed to be its best feature.

With a more lighthearted approach, I began playing Wii Sports. While the simplicity of the generic modes gets tiring quickly, I surprisingly found a fountain of fun in the Baseball training modes. I haven't tried the Training or Fitness modes for the others since I'm so happy with baseball right now. I found myself doing batting stances on such a simple game, it's ridiculous. If developers can program on a deeper level of DOFs, sim baseball games should become a lot more fun in the near future.

I'm still playing MLB 06: The Show (PS2) and will start Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (PS2) soon. I'm debating on what epic to start playing first, whether The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii) or Final Fantasy XII (PS2). I've never had to make that choice, and it kinda pis

I'm actually pretty stoked about playing it because I just got into Lemuria(finally), and have realized that there is a lot more to this game than what I've already done. Sadly, now I have to deal with my stupid choice of naming the red-haired girl Tifa back when I started the game(which could have been about two years ago...).

I just finished up Twilight Princess and dug out my copy of Master Quest. Fortunately, I got to Ganondorf's Tower before and quit, so all I've got to do is through the six doors and cut of the barrier.

also, story time

I was going through the Forest one and apparently I had completed most of the puzzles in it. I get to a room where there are a bunch of the rotating laser guys you can only kill with bombs. There's a platform with one of them on that I need to get to so I can play the Song of Time. Unfortunately, I'm out of regular bombs and I've got one heart left. I decided to take my chances and use one of my many Bombchus. I throw on my Hover Boots or whatever they're called and float toward the platform with a Bombchu over my head. I throw it down, the guy blows up, and I survive. About a millisecond later my boots die on me and I fall to my death.

Justice League Heroes, which is a simpler and less impressive version of what Raven and Activision have done with the Marvel universe the past few years. I'd be playing Ultimate Alliance instead if it wasn't for my current DC/Green Lantern high. The game's fun enough, though, if you love the characters. Hopefully this will be a sign of things to come for JLA and co. Marvel has been admirably successful at keeping its characters well represented in videogames (Marvel Nemesis notwithstanding), and it's about time DC stepped up, too.

MLB 06: The Show, still. I found out my brother is 44th in the all-time ranking of the game (among 83,000+ players), and first among Marlins fans. I think I'll be playing some online games myself, maybe while I still play in season mode.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is currently on hold, as I have no desire to continue playing it. I started Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, which is necessarily simpler than console MGS games but retains some of the great elements that make the series so much fun to play. I'll squeeze in Clover's Go
d Hand when I get the chance, too, as well as some Resistance online play. 40-MAN ONLINE PLAY. OH MY *** IT IS A WARZONE!

Lastly, I'm playing Sky Odyssey (PS2). A gem apparently released during the PS2's launch window. Truth be told, I sought this game out for research, as we're developing a flying game with similar traits, but luckily I found it to be quite interesting. The title must be a joy to true flight enthusiasts, and it's getting me more into aircrafts and such. Pretty solid title.

Correction: there is one Bronze Knuckle in that cave, and even if I had two, it would give me less strength than I have unequipped.

However, upon further examination of my stats, I do seem to have 56 attack power, the same as my Warrior w/ Spark Dagger and Viking Axe, so I guess I was just imagining him hitting for less. My original theory seems to have been correct.

I got back into The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii) last night, and the addition of component cables to my system made the game more enjoyable. I'm willing to play it more now than I was before. That is, if I can learn to live with the game's abuse of the Wii Remote's battery consumption.

I beat Superman Returns (Xbox 360) about a week ago, and it's not as bad a game as most people make it out to be. While I found the repetitive missions and storytelling disappointing, they weren't bad enough to the point where I had to put my controller down. I beat the game quickly because it's simply fun to fly and beat the crap out of things as Superman for hours. Although, I must admit the existence of Achievements may have helped in the game's replay value. I'll be completing all but two Achievements once I find all the kitties in Metropolis.

In other news, I broke my Premium Edition disc of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (PS2). For a special edition case, it sure had a crappy way of taking the disc out. I got to play just a little bit of the seemingly improved Konquest mode, so I'll be resuming play once Midway replaces my disc (fee or no fee, which depends on how stupid they think I am :-p).

I also started playing Gears of War (Xbox 360) yesterday, in split-screen co-op mode with Fate. I only played the tutorial mission, but it looked and played cool enough. However, I'll likely play the game on my own first and then in co-op with Fate, since I've never been a fan of the split-screen view and don't want that to hinder my first playthrough of Gears.

Still playing MLB 06: The Show (PS2). I'm a month and a half away before the seasons ends, and from the looks of it, I'll be finishing up 06 right before starting 07 when it's released for the PS2 and PS3.

I love this game, I had to kill the primitive landlocked Russians so I could have city in airdrop range of the territory of my real enemy who was across the territory of a nation who could take me over if allied with other nations.

Far Cry Vengence - Wii

I love the system, I just miss the Map Editor, making indoor levels was my favourite pass time in FCI on Xbox

Red Steel - Wii

A little choppy at times, but I love it. And I love that the cars will explode in huge fireballs during a good fart.

Wii Sports - take a wild guess

This... game... rocks!!! A HECK of a lot more than it really should.

The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess - Wii

It's Zelda, nuff said.

Megaman Anniversary Collection - GCN

I was off this for a while bwhen I couldn't beat any of the NES Wily castles but I gave it a try again and I've improved greaty. Up to Wily's fortress in all and beaten 1, 3, 5, 8

Phantasy Star Online Episodes I & II - GCN

I'll just be honest, I've been addicted to this game since finding my first rare weapon.

Bloody Roar Primal Fury - GCN

My all time favourite 3D fighting game for serious fighting. If I want to laugh, I play SCII.:D

Final Fantasy XII - PS2

I have 9 Summons (1,2,3,5,7,8,10,11,12). Best FF Game in a long time.

And also:

New Super Mario Bros - DS
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II - Xbox
Conker's Live & Reloaded - Xbox

Bestiary, Sound Test, quicksave, 4 new espers, 2 new dungeons, character portraits during conversations, character jobs are listed on the menu, more organized and informative menus for equipment, items, and stuff, and an overall better translation (The opera lyrics fit much better with the 'singing voice', for instance.)

Playing Bully (PS2). I'm a little over 50% complete. Now my time is spent between developing our game and playing Bully. I really like the game.

Posted by Linko_16

Here's what I've been doing the past two months or so:

From the vault of games I bought and haven't played through yet, I started both Billy Hatcher and Chibi-Robo simultaniously. I finished Chibi-Robo already, it was an awesome game, but Billy Hatcher has some unexpectedly hard levels and I'm still working on it. In place of Chibi-Robo I then played through Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, which was short and easy. I wept for how cool Rayman used to be... I mean, Ly wasn't even in this game. Now that I'm done with that, I'm now in the middle of Viewtiful Joe 2. It's just like the first one more or less, which is fine with me because it's plenty fun. At first I thought Silvia'd be useless, but now that she's got two guns and all her special moves, she's just as good.

As for the DS, I went through Rayman 3 for Advance easily enough, which was modeled from back when Rayman used to be good, so it was lots of fun. Next, I was working through Final Fantasy III, which is really great, but I took kind of a break from it. That kind of plain old RPG style can wear on my nerves if it's too much at once. So instead I blasted through some of my favorite old Advance platformers to balance it out: first Metroid Fusion, then Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, then (spurred on by the Kirby games, since I might try to grab Squeek Squad soon) I went back to Canvas Curse to beat the game with all the characters and get all the emblems. All that's left are two of the subgame emblems, and those can be really hard.

Yeah, I am playing on 1080p resolution, HDMI. The Graphics kick ***.
But the game is annoying. I love the attacks you can do (the special effects are beautiful), but the storyline is blows. Oh yeah, and the fact that you cannot change the camera angles is ****ing me off.

Yeah, I wouldn't say "kick ***" but pretty good. In HD. Man, I went from HD to SD and holy Christ, it's a joke. The game looks brutal on standard.

Quoting Vampiro V. Empire: Yeah, I wouldn't say "kick ***" but pretty good. In HD. Man, I went from HD to SD and holy Christ, it's a joke. The game looks brutal on standard.

I know. I could see a huge difference in COD3 when I went from HD to SD. I wish I had an HDTV. I played Genji for a while at my friend's house and I was just so mesmerized by the graphics that I didn't care about everything else. Now that I am back home it is a totally different game. :(

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

The difference isn't so large in CoD3. Most games don't have a huge gap really, just a nice, noticeable difference that wouldn't exactly want to make you go back. Genji's gap was just huge for some reason. Man, the fire effects on SD? Wow.

Ugh, don't even start. I despise CoD3, and I adored CoD2.

Posted by Oforia

Heh.

Have you played Marvel Ultimate Alliance for ps3?

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Nah, those games aren't my cup to tea, so playing the 360 version for a bit was enough for me. Why, is it really bad on the PS3 or something? Because I know the PS3 version of CoD3 is noticeable worse than the 360 version.

Posted by Oforia

No, actually. I loved it. It is basically the same for the 360 and the ps3 though. Same unlockable characters, same movies, same battles, etc. I just happen to have it on the ps3. I have spent more time in the past few weeks playing this game, then any other game. You should give it a chance. It is great for marvel fans. It is also the best marvel/superhero game that I have ever played.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Which isn't saying a whole lot.

Donkey Kong Country 2.

I was going through my rom list and saw it, and just felt like playing it again. The soundtrack is beautiful, and the level design is quite amazing as far as any 2D platformers go.

Right now I'm alternating between Banjo-Kazooie and Resident Evil 4, and at the same time practicing in SSBM. I have it set up where I play BK with its happy-go-lucky, cheerful environment during the day, and its polar opposite, RE4, at night. I think it's quite appropriate and fits the mood for both games, so it works nicely. Any time in between I'll usually find time to practice at least a couple hours in SSBM, too. After I'm done with BK and RE4 I'm probably going to move on to Okami, Sly Cooper 3, and Myst V: End of Ages. Good stuff right there.

It's 2 hits, since the enemies still can't shoot for ****. Elevated is just as easy as the other difficulties, you just get one less medkit and go to red in one hit, rather than three or four.

Gamecube:

-Paper Mario: The 100 Year Door- I'm stuck right now, but that's okay.

GameBoy Advance:

-Yggdra Union- **** this game is hard, but since I found out the difficulty lowers itself whenever you get Game Over, I have a little hope left.
-Sword of Mana- I guess I'm playing this game purely because I own it... I need some DS games. :/

I finally brought myself to pick up the Farcry Instincts Predator for the 360. I never thought the Farcry games would be any good, and a lot of people probably think they suck, but I think they are awesome. It's one of those games where you have to enjoy the thrill of the kill.

Posted by Kit

Just got Phantasy Star Universe (360), gonna try that out once my brother gets off.

Posted by Zeta

PSO was superior.

Playing Resident Evil 4, Elite Beat Agents, Pokemon Emerald, and Yggdra Union (Finally found the actual game, so I don't need the rom anymore.)

The original and the Xbox follow-up were some of the best FPSs ever made and most people agree. Since then, they've been releasing the same game on every console with a different name. Kinda ruined the franchise, when there's really only two games.

Anywho, I bought Earth Defence Force for the 360 a couple of days ago. The achievements are weird (Easy - 50, Normal - 100, Hard - 150, etc until Inferno -300) which makes you play the game five or six times to get them all, even though there's only six. Still, it's actually a really fantastic game. It's a pure shooter where all you really do is collect weapons and destroy giant UFOs, ants, spiders, robots, and dinosaurs, but christ they do it well. Plus, you can blow up literally everything. If a building is blocking your shot, just blow it the **** up. Plus, the game only costs, like, 30 bucks. Can't go wrong.

Hey is the Farcry on Wii anygood? I seen it at the Hastings. Anybody played it? Is it just a copy of instincts or what? Is it worth checking out when I get a Wii?

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

It's the same game as the Xbox game, just with a few added features. Except it's terrible.

Posted by Dexter

I contributed a few of my thoughts about Far Cry in the Wii forum. Awful game, probably even worse than Red Steel. It glitched on me around 10 times i different areas while I went through the entire game, freezing me in trees and stuff. 10 times is way to much. Very annoying. Medal of Honor and Call of Duty 3 are better FPS on the Wii and they're not even that good.

I'm currently playing Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. Better late than never. Wonderful game, probably the funnest DS game I've played yet. I'll probably finish it today.

Posted by Creedence

Yea, I didn't think it could ever be as cool on the Wii but I was just curious. Anyway, beat the freak with the gaint arm, it was cool, reminded me of El Giagante off RE4, just not as big.

I defeated Castlevania yesterday. Best Castlevania game I've gone through since the NES days.

Today I started Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja for the Nintendo DS. Only played for 30 minutes so far, but it seems like a game that's going to grow on me as I progress. Seems like the type of game I'm going to enjoy. This game will probably take up my game time for the next week.

What! You're back? That's what I'm talking about. Still the best 360 game, I say. I'll see you on tonight, hopefully.

Almost finished with Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime. Maybe two hours left at the most. Only about 6 more slimes to save. Should be able to finish it today. It's been my favorite Nintendo DS game so far. So much fun.

I got Super Paper Mario to finish after that. I've only completed the first world so far, due to my devotion to Slimenia.

SimCity 4: I had built a self-sufficient city, generating about $10,000 a month, when I accidentally click on 'Robot Invasion' instead of 'level land'. Needless to say, I didn't enjoy seeing my financial district being humped by tin cans.

Gears of War: Went online, had no idea what to do, ran back to single player. It's okay, but oh-so repetitive. DUCK. SHOOT. RELOAD. SHOOT. DUCK. RELOAD. SHOOT. DUCK. RUN FORWARD. DUCK. SHOOT. RELOAD. CHAINSAW.

Crackdown: Oh lawd I love this game. Beat the first gang island, just getting a foothold on the second. All my stats are at level 3, apart from strength, which is maxed out. Nothing better than humming the Spidey theme while leaping around rooftops fighting small-time crime.

I'm currently playing Calling All Cars! (PS3), which I downloaded earlier today off of PSN. I'm usually not a big fan of casual games like this, but I'm glad I gave it a try (thanks in part to being a game designed by David Jaffe). It's so simple to pick up and play, and multiplayer is so frantic and fun. I'll be playing this for a while, which means my PS3 has finally been dusted off.

I'm also trying my best to complete the Achievement-hater Saints Row (Xbox 360). When I played the demo I wasn't impressed at all, so I forgot about the game. However, while visiting a friend of mine in Seattle...

... I was bored at his place during the times he had work, so I picked Saints Row off his shelf and started playing it out of boredom. Thanks to the Achievements and the fact that it's a competent clone of GTA (something we don't see), I grew to like it. It even adds some unique missions that are really fun to play, and the introduction of map waypoints is a blessing. When I got back home I bought it and played it relentlessly, and now I'm 82% done with only a few activities left to finish.

Oh, and the game's buggy as hell, but at least I've only suffered one crash out of it.

I'm still playing MLB 06: The Show for the PS2. I'm waiting for 07 to come out next week on the PS3, though I'm fine with holding off until I finish the whole season. Best baseball game EVER.

Lastly, I'm playing Street Fighter II': Hyper Fighting. I wish I had more time to play this one, since I've noticed some of the people with a better ranking than mine actually aren't that good. Out of 10 matches I have a day, I tend to win about 8, with powered-down M. Bison. Also, I've gotten all my negative reputation from playing that game in XBLA, and all for being "Unsporting." Apparently kicking an opponent's *** perfect and mercilessly is unsporting in Street Fighter. Oh, I do miss the Arcades...

Pull out shotgun and shoot until the person is down, then shoot/hit/stomp them again to kill them (run up to them and do it if it's execution.) Pretty simple really.

Currently, I'm playing Pokemon Diamond and Okami. I beat Okami a while ago and immediately started playing through it again. I'm pretty sure there's no way in hell I'll ever get all the stray beads, though...

I had to put Riviera on hold for Diamond. :( And I'm really itching for some Ape Escape 3 action, so I think I'll pick that up soon.

Also, getting a couple older Nintendo systems soon, as well as a lot more Gamecube games. Gotta love gamers who've been corrupted by football and the like.

Got my hands on a copy of Conker's Bad Fur Day, which I never played in the old days. Not as "Mature" as I really expected. Aside from sex themes, blood, swearing, and bosses made out of shit, it was like playing DK64 or Banjo-Kazooie. Conker's not even that much of an unpleasant fellow... with the theme of "bad fur day," I'd always envisioned it as Conker starting off with the cheery persona he'd always had in previous games, but then just waking up to this Bad Fur Day where he was suddenly in a bad mood and acted like a jerk, corrupting the cheery world around him.

Huh.

Well, it was still fun.

Odd how after never experiencing something for yourself but being attentive as to what other people say will alter your idea and will later change your own experience extremely. I've had that happen to me a few times. I don't know how much worse a game could get on the 64. I believe Conker was the boss when it came to its mature themes in kiddy cuddly form.

I played some TimeSplitters: Future Perfect Last night along with some Diddy Kong Racing. The TimeSplitter games were so great, I wonder why we haven't gotten another one. So smooth in design and controls, I think it would work out nicely for a Wii FPS.

Still playing Pokemon Pearl. I've already put over 30 hours into it and it looks like it’s easily going to last over 40. Has anyone beaten it yet, and if so, how long did it take you?

Maybe I take too much time to stop and smell the roses and walk my Psyducks in the park.

Posted by Linko_16

Finally beat Final Fantasy III. The Crystal Tower was brutal - that's a lot of bosses without a chance to save in between.

From one DS RPG to another, I hope pick up Pokemon soon. Friend of mine really wants Pearl, so it's Diamond for me. I'll probably pick the girl character, not only because my friend is bound to want the guy, but also because I think the guy looks downright goofy.

Posted by Dexter

The guy is exceptionally lame while that girl, given time, can be tamed. She's got that special charm where she's not easily alarmed yet she'll still bring the harm to yo foe. Fashion is more important than you might think when it comes to this game (there's a fashion contests thingy), and the female has this going on. Your friend is going to later wish he chose the girl, while you might wish you chose the Pearl, daweg. She's representin'.
