It seems that every psp game has somthing wrong with it. Bad controls, sloppy controls, crappy cameras, you name it and at least one psp game in the bunch is bound to have it. So far I haven't really enjoyed having a psp. I've really enjoyed my nintendo ds a hell of a lot better (as for the psp well, my cat has a new scratching post, the screen of it). Anyways even with the scratched up screen (thanks to the ****ing cat) I'm thinking about trading it in. How does everyone else feel about the psp?
I think that if I had one with a decent sized screen, I'd enjoy all the fun emulators and what not, as well as protable movies/music. I also think that you have nobody but yourself to blame for allowing your cat to use it as a scratching post.
How to prevent your PSP from becoming scratched:
- Keep it in the rubber casing
- Use the screen cloth frequently
- Make sure there isn't any grit across the screenwhen you place the PSP in the casing - this can rub against it and cause scratches
- Don't drop it.
Also, which games do you have about which you are complaining of bad camera angles? The only ones which spring to mind are Medievil Resurrection and Death Jr - Both of which are wank anyway.
I mainly use my PSP as a homebrew platform, though, so I'm happy. Also, it's scratch-free :D
medieval ressurection is the one I was talking about. And I decided to let my cat use it after I came home from work one day & saw claw marks on it. Well anyways, the cats missing a bit of fur on the tail now after I threw it at the cat for ****ing it up. And its not like it was worth keeping anyways. There's not very many good games for it and I doubt that there will be even be 12 good games being released for it in 2006.
What a good idea, rather than trying sell a valuable peice of electronics while it was still nice, lets give it to the cat! AND then abuse the cat when it does what you wanted it to do!
BRILLIANT!
Wow, I wish I could be as hardcore as gamerz, throwing around cats sure is cool!
I sold my DS for a PSP because the novelty of a touch screen wore off after a while. It just makes controls easier, more for kids really. Plus the DS keeps trying to handle 3D graphics at a bog PS1 standard.
But my PSP has a better screen, graphics, console-equivalent games, is an MP3 and video player. Sorted! Only bad thing about it is the battery but thats a minor thing. PSP's way more friendly.
What games does your cat play while it scratches up the PSP?
I too am not really a fan of the porn satiation portable. I hated that little nub thing they have on there, it really didn't have any games for me, I already have an Ipod so I didn't use it for music, it took to long to load anything, and the battery was a pain so I traded it to a friend for one of his DSs and couldn't be happier.
i like them both
i dont like cats
and i have left my mark here
dude, no game is perfect, every game ever has at least 1 problem
[quote=higbvuyb]And? The PSP's graphics are worse than the PS1's graphics. Maybe not pixel for pixel, but they're worse in total.
...Are you on drugs? O_o Seriously, what the **** is wrong with you?
Anti-alisasing is indeed balls on the PSP, but from a machine with 32mb of ram and a chip capable of operating at a mere 333mhz (although it's underclocked; it actually runs at 266 on commercial games), what do you expect?
[quote]The screen isn't so great either.
Only the asian-manufactured screens have good quality - They're manufactured by Sharp. The ones for Australia, USA, Europe etc. were produced in-house by Sony, and are prone to severe ghosting. Makes me glad I imported.
[quote]Need for Speed Underground, which I personally played at a computer store, had jaggy, not-anti-aliased edges, and crap, blurry textures.
NFS is an EA-published franchise these days - It goes without saying that it's going to be crap. The PSP version looks just as dull as the PS2 version. Just because blood won't boil in it doesn't mean that your kettle is useless.
[quote]Also, with that sort of battery life, you'd have to use headphones, turn off the backlight, and turn down the brightness and contrast to play a decently long game.
What, you mean the 7+ hour battery life I got out of GTA yesterday with the backlight on full and the speakers on? Please.
[quote]Also, what I saw of the PSP interface sucked.
Ho, ho! What exactly are you comparing it to, oh sage of ergonomics?
I dont like PSP either
Okay, your post has failed the 3 main rules for posting:
1. Had no real point.
2. Did not contain any clever witticisms or jokes.
3. No sexual inuendos.
Jesus, just leave. I can't even tell if you're a guy or a girl with that ****ing sig of yours.
O_O is it just me or are there a lot of noobs around anymore...
Anywho I like the PSP it's just too pricey. When it jumps down in price i'll be sure to pick one up. Not til then.
[quote=higbvuyb]I expect it to be worse than the PS1, which is true
No, it really isn't. :/ Go compare the original WipEout to Pure.
And yes, it does look that good in action.
[quote]No handheld has decent graphics.
PSP has great graphics - for a handheld.
[quote]
Yeah, reinforcing the fact that Sony sucks.
No ****. Sony sucks, but a select few of their products don't. The PSP is one of them.
[quote]Anyway, the graphics were REALLY bad. I'd expect them to be at a certain level, regardless of the publisher.
All EA did was cut down the console version's textures, vehicles, tracks etc so they could fit more stupid hip-hop songs and FMVs onto the disc.
[quote]
Gamespot is better than you.
Ridge Racers is not GTA, sir.
[quote]You don't have to compare it to anything. Crap is still crap.
Feels fine to me. Maybe you just have malformed hands.
[quote=higbvuyb]
Fool, the PS1 screenshot is only about 260 x 163 pixels, when the actuaql game resolution is different. Also, the game code is different.
The PSP screenshot is downsized, too. Also, we're not talking about code here - We're talking about how the graphics are, and I can see a slightly significant boost from the original PS. Find me a high-res image of a PS game that looks better than a PSP one, I dare you.
[quote]
True, but all current handheld graphics suck.
Yeah, in comparison to consoles/PC. You can't really ask for more than what the PSP has to offer at this point.
[quote]Really? How do you know they put more songs on it?
Read a review on QJ.net a while back. Also, it should be noted that the ISO is about 1.7 gigs in size - UMD capacity is 1.8, so they must've stuffed a LOT of media on there.
[quote]
So? GTA isn't the only other game on the PSP, and its graphics suck, as well as the gameplay.
This is your personal opinion. I am keeping my arguments objective. You can't really go around comparing every game on the PSP to something like, say, Quake IV.
[quote]No, the joystick things is retarded.
Your problem.
[quote]Also, I meant software interface.
Explain.
I believe he ment that the buttons you use to do a certain thing in the game doesnt feel like its the button that should be used.
Why is this thread still going on and on and on,It's a stupid discussion. Every system has it's flaws, maybe the makers liked it and all these stupid reviews mess with people's minds. You hate the psp and it hates you back, I hate the xbox 360 but I'm not going to go and say oh it sucks and there are some many thing's rong with it that people already no, It's all been said, heard and delt with.
Wonderful logic right there. Here, have a gold star. :)
yeah im not very fond of the psp, just because i have a ds and i dont really like the games on the psp
i prefer the PSP over the DS... the PSP has funner games! and im not too fond of using a touchscreen for everything game i pick up. but i still like both :D
lol the only game I liked was untold legends(the 1st one, I the 2nd didn't look to fun),GTA:LCS and The ***father doesnt come out till june.wipeout didn't look to fun. are there any other rockstar games that have come out for psp or has true crime come out for it yet? or are they ?
dude whats wrong with you, the ds is much better than the psp, the only thing keeping alive the psp is the movies, and you can barly hear them because the sound quality sucks!!!
the movies actually are not selling.. many people stopped producing movies and **** for it. The games are quality.. Popolo Crisis (thats the title, right?) and Legend of Heroes are both GREAT games! also theres a better WiFi in the psp!
Why would you say you hate psp in the psp board. Do you like getting flamed or something man.
Did the PSP like die off? Like I hear nothing about it anymore. I haven't heard of any good releases supposed to come out or anything for it. Seems like a dying thing to me. Although I wanted one pretty bad, I don't see myself dishing out a lot of cash for one anytime soon.
New firmware came out a few days ago, but the current roster of games seems pretty mediocre. I only own GTA and WipEout anyway (well, plus a few "alternatively acquired" games).
its um.. Dying isn't it? It's a nice system just highly priced to the point where people will resort to not getting one. or so it seems.
I say it's almost time this thread (and psp board) get moved to da flame board, da psp already has a huge lack of games compared to da ds. And aside from that, the ds is becoming what the sony wanted the psp to eventually become, with the web browser, multiplayer, wifi, popularity, (Ipod killer my ***.) media etc (what a coincidence!!!)
and yet again the ps3 most likely won't survive for very long.
Shut the **** up and stop bumping your own ****ing stupid threads.
