It actually depends on which story you selected. (Hero/Dark)

i think they would both lose. if you think abut the battle alot which i have, u will realize that is would b a very close mach. sonic is very fast with cool moves, but shadow is fast too with cool moves. i think they would have such a violint fight that both would die. and then eggman wud take over the world and that would b terrible.
Such fights are never decided in videogames in order to allow the player to decide who he thinks would win.
