Windows Live Mail Beta

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

So yeah, I just got my invitation today and found it pretty snazzy. I mean, it's similar to Outlook and even more so to Gmail, but that IS a good thing. It's simple and clean. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if that changed once it goes public.

Anywho, here's some screenshots (jpg, so some colours are off) if you're wondering what's it all about:

Did you sign up at live. com as a beta tester? if so, how long did it take?

I got an email a few weeks back asking if I wanted to be a beta tester. I signed up through the email and got the invitation in about two or three weeks.

Like I said, it's quite nice. The only annoyance is the fact that i can't empty out my inbox without deleting individual emails. You're supposed to be able to right-click and empty, but you can't for some reason. Not a big deal though.

Apparently you get several invites, like gmail. Is this true?

Nope. Only MS sends out invites.

You may be thinking of the new Live Messenger or whatever it's called.

For the deletion thing: Try clicking at the top of the list of your bin and hold shift and click on the last message at the bottom of the list. Then hit delete. Not sure if you knew that or not. :p

Heh, just found that out a couple days ago. When I first got it, I tried using shift and down, and since that didn't work, I assumed the shift functionality was out of the question. Glad to see it's not. Saves me a lot of clicking.
