Has anyone else noticed this? Occasionally, when you open a board, an advertising box mysteriously appears next to the mouse for a few seconds while the board is loading. I decided to post about it here after about the tenth time this happened to me.
No.
mozilla
I use mozilla and it never happens to me.
I don't have a pop-up blocker beyong IE's standard features, and I don't have any problems with pop-ups. Scan for spyware... some of them can force pop-ups that you'd think just came from whatever site you were on.
Norton SHITBLOCKER get.
mozilla ftw
Edit: Actually, I'm using IE right now (not my computer) and I still havent noticed one. Its probably spyware like linko said.
Is it just me, or every few months does everyone on this board change browsers? Fads, meh.
...I've used Firefox for two years now, and religiously stuck to Mozilla before that.
My advice to GameMiestro is that he should stop downloading so much porn.
It must be Redscowl Bluesingsky taking over da boards!! :D
I can't download anything at all on the computers I am forced to use.
Also, on further investigation, the ads that appear are from the exact same companies that appear in the ad box below the Super Moderator list.
I'm using IE, and I'm not getting any pop-ups. At least not from VGC.

I'm addicted to the tabbed browsing. Plus, I don't want to seem like one of those annoying computer neophytes who only use IE. No offense peeps who use IE... it's just that... you're n00bs. No offense, it's just fact. Deal with it. Ya know... 'cause you are... Just because you don't use the browser I use, or don't use other programs that I use, that makes you all n00bs. So... yeah. GO FIREFOX.
PS: When I said mozilla, I meant firefox.
I'm a n00b then. I've got two firewalls running and it works just fine for me. :)
Miso, Mozilla is basically Firefox. They're like the exact same thing only I think Firefox has a few less features. Both are made by the same people.
edit: I'm pretty sure your problem is that you're hovering your mouse over the ad area, which might cause the alt text to pop up before the ad itself is actually displayed.
