For a son, I'm honestly not too sure...somthing that starts with an A most likely :cool:

For a boy I like Edmond or Ryder. When I was bored one day a while back I looked up the name ryder on the internet and apparently it's fairly popular, although I've never met anyone by that name. A girl would be left up to the mother because I have no idea what name a girl would like. Unique names are awesome but too unique is not.

I think I'd probably give my children normal names. You know, what with not wanting my children to get bullied. Not necessarily excessively normal and mundane, but something which doesn't cause people to hit them repeatedly would be quite nice thank you.

I'll give you Earth, Wind and Fire. They may not be orthodox names, but at least they have more meaning to them beyond beloved media icons. However, I once met a girl named Mercedes... I figured it must have just been a normal name that I'd only heard from the car dealership, but I later found out that her dad had named all his kids after cars. How redneck is that?

These names come from a variety of backgrounds, I know, but it is not because of any desire to identify with another culture. They are either names that have meaning to me or just sound pretty.
My son's name will, indeed, be "Solid Snake." He will own your children on every playground and he will grow up to be a successful businessman. People will then refer to him as "Big Boss." Are you ****ing stupid? OF COURSE I'm not being serious.

Personally, I think 'Hayter' is a damn good first name for a boy. Just throwing that out there.
If I ever have a kid, one of my dearest ambitions, it'll probably be named William, after this family tradition that I don't particularly want to break. Although, to be fair, Scots tradition names the first born boy after the father's father, then the mother's father for the second boy, then the father's grandfather for the third, and so on. For daughters, the first one is the mother's mother, and it follows the same pattern.
Either way for me, my first son ends up as William. Although if I have a third son, he's not being Clarence.
