I really like the Redwall books and I wanted to know if anyone does too. My favorite was "The Outcast of Redwall". I liked Veil.

I've read all of them except for "Triss" and "Loamhedge." Excellent series, and I honestly wouldn't mind reading them again. It's been a while.
By the way, Ferahgo and Klitch were the coolest pair of characters in the books for me.

I read nearly the entire series years and years ago. In fact, I have the majority of them sitting on my bookshelf. Mayhaps I'll get around to reading them again.

I liked the one with Martin in it--that kicked ***.

I've been reading those lately. I'm on Mariel of Redwall, but my favorite so far has been Mattimeo. My boyfriend says that his favorite was the Legend of Luke. I need to buy Marlfox.
Cheers!

Ferahgo the Assassin, yeah, he was f*cking awesome. But Tag follows him up closely. He's almost been the only protagonist who could take on an entire army with just that knife, if he wanted to.

Which book had Tag in it? I don't think I've read that one yet. But Klitch and Ferahgo are pretty cool. I'm reading 'Salamandastron' right now actually. I like it so far. Those two stoats that turn up at Redwall are pretty funny. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but the older ones are one generation behind Saxtus, and the younger ones are two, and the babies are three. Right?

Still, after a while, don't you find that the plot becomes just a little cliche? After all, for the most part the vermin are flat characters, with the occasional one that bumbles into doing good.

Ive heard interesting things about these books, but My bookstore doesnt seem to have them. Which is pretty amazing to me, because Books-A-Million is a pretty good bookstore.

I actually just checked out Redwall from the library. I'm about halfway through and I am amazed by the sheer excitement and joy I am getting out of this book. Truly a magnifiscent work of literature I must say.

I really didn't like these books too much. They really bore me. :-/
guess I'm more of a Forgotten Realms guy anyway.

Hum, try order it through the internet? Usually cheaper anyways.

I always thought the writing style was rather boring. Didn't do much for me.

But then again, the fact that I read them back when I was 10-12 years old makes a pretty big difference. Tastes change throughout the years, and although I'll always acknowledge them as great, imaginative reads, I don't think I'd want to read them again. I came to this conclusion recently when I picked up "Triss," finally after about a year of considering getting it, and was bored by the 100th page. Now that I've moved on to different authors, and my tastes have "evolved," the books just can't hold my interest much anymore.

Redwall... I had always wanted to read those books. In fact, I REALLY wanted to when I saw the TV series it had.
I saw one, but I don't think it was the first one. I like to start things from the very beginning to the end. This sounds like something I could definately read for a long time.

Corrupt nailed it. I read all the books that came out up until I was about 12, then I stopped caring so much about the new releases, but continue to see them as great imaginative books.
The food descriptions in them always made me want to try things like meadowcream and daisy wine...
